Seeking a mid-career to senior-level psychologist or psychiatrist with a solid research and publication record in the areas of traumatic stress, PTSD, and/or women’s health. Demonstrated record of research grant funding and strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential. Experience with program development or policy development and recognition within the scientific and academic community is preferred. The Deputy Director assists the Director in developing and implementing innovative research programs and national research collaborations, as well as promoting staff development and scientific productivity. Salary and benefits package are competitive and commensurate with experience. Faculty appointment is anticipated at the Full or Associate level in the Boston University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry; and additional appointment in the Department of Psychology at Boston University is possible.
he Women’s Health Sciences Division is a growing and vibrant multi- disciplinary branch of the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, a seven-site consortium mandated by Congress to study reactions to traumatic stress and develop educational programs. The Women's Health Sciences Division, affiliated with Boston University School of Medicine and located at the VA Boston Healthcare System, is a nationally-recognized program developing and conducting innovative research in stress, trauma, and women's health and is involved in dissemination of evidence-based treatment for PTSD, as well as promoting best practices in the treatment of veterans who experienced military sexual trauma. The Division is associated with strong clinical programs for women that include outpatient treatment, a residential program for PTSD and comorbid substance abuse, a transitional residence, and a homelessness
program. Additionally, the Division serves as a training site for psychology
graduate students, psychology interns, and post-doctoral fellows. The Division possesses outstanding resources for research, clinical, and training activities, and offers a stimulating work environment.
